Good morning, I hope you’re having a good day so far. Today is a very special day on my blog because it marks one year since I started my blog!
Over the past year I’ve written 108 blog posts, gained 77 followers, been viewed over 2,000 times and reached 53 countries. When I wrote my first blog post, I honestly didn’t expect anyone to be interested in it, and I would just like to say a massive thank you to every person who has read, liked, commented and shared my blog posts. It honestly means so much to me!
Through blogging I’ve also found some great bloggers to follow, and it really inspires me to read all these different blog posts from like-minded people.
For this one year anniversary post, I’d like to have a look back at the highlights of the past year and share with you what I’ve learned and how blogging has altered my life.
Most popular blog post
When looking through all of my blog posts, there is one post that stands out miles above the rest, and that’s the ‘A letter to my body… ‘ post.
I came up with the idea for this blog post in the shower (I swear all good ideas come to me in the shower!) and I wrote it without much planning. I think this is what made it so popular: it was unedited and from the heart.
I was quite overwhelmed by the love and support people showed for it, and I’m honoured that it’s now being used in therapy to support other people recovering from eating disorders and body dysmorphia.
I’ve blogged about all sorts of things, but there are some common themes through my blog (did someone say cats?)
I blog mainly about cats, my eating disorder recovery, baking, crafting and photography. With that said, here are a few of my top picks from each category:
What I’ve gained from blogging
Blogging has given me a creative outlet where I can write about things that interest me and explore new hobbies. Over the past year I have fallen back in love with photography, I’ve finally had the confidence to start making YouTube videos, I’ve been open and honest about my struggles and I’ve found a way to help others.
It has been a great first year and hopefully there will be many more years of HollyRobiin, and thank you again to everyone who has been a part of my blogging journey so far!
