Lemon Curd Hearts

For Christmas last year, my Nana made me a cook book filled with all the recipes we made together when I was little. It was such a thoughtful gift and she designed it like a scrap book, with little hints and tips stuck in throughout the book.

There are so many recipes in there, including some new ones I’ve never tried, and at the back of the book there are some empty pages for me to add my own. I hope I can use it when I have children one day, to pass down the recipes.

Anyway, with her birthday coming up it seemed right to bake something from the book. I went with my usual favourite – lemon curd Bakewell tarts!

I make these quite a lot, mainly because I know I can do it. When you’re baking for somebody specific, it makes sense to make something you know you can do well, instead of trying something new and getting frustrated that it’s not perfect.

I spent all morning baking and I’m quite pleased with the outcome.

The flowers work really well and the silver shimmer spray (I’m addicted to this!) finishes them off nicely.

That’s about it for this blog, I hope you liked it!
