I was scrolling through my photos and I came across some that I took before this blog started when I went to an Aquarium in Plymouth with my mum.
I absolutely love aquariums, they’re so interesting and magical. This particular one had a lot of large tanks where we spent a lot of time just sitting and watching what was going on. I remember there was one fish that was quite territorial and would chase off any other fish that came close to his rock. We found it quite amusing because he looked so smug.
My favourite part of any Aquarium is usually the jelly fish section. Normally they’re in little tanks that are lit up to show off their shape. I find it so fascinating watching how they move, they look so out of this world.
We also stumbled on an old friend of mine. A few years ago when I was at the beach I stepped on a weever fish, and I had no idea what it was.
It just felt like I had stood on a sharp rock, but when I sat down to look at the wound it started getting really painful. I started panicking when it began moving up my leg and my foot went purple. I ended up in A&E in my bikini! Luckily it’s easy to treat, even though my foot was swollen for the rest of the week.
One of the tanks was curved so you could stand partly beneath it and look up at the fish. This gave you such a good view of the stingrays, with their little smiley faces, and the sharks too.
At the end of the Aquarium was a small section with lots of little fish and creatures, including a happy little shrimp and Nemo!
It was such an amazing day and it’s just makes me even more excited for my sea trekking experience later this year where I’ll actually get to go inside one of the big tanks!
That’s all for now, but here’s a happy little cuttlefish to brighten your day
